Music Ministry

One way we connect generations and impact peoples’ lives at St. Paul’s is through the ministry of music.

The music ministry at St. Paul’s provides an opportunity for you to use the gifts God has given you and enjoy many wonderful friendships with people who love to share their talents for the glory of God. The following are some of the music programs offered at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

Chancel Vocal Choir

We sing at the 10:30 worship services. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings 7:00-8:30 p.m. We also warm-up Sunday mornings at 10:00 just prior to the worship service. It is not necessary that you be able to read music or audition to participate in this volunteer choir. We will help you along the way.

Children’s Choir

They sing during the worship service about 6 times per year and during several of our special services.  Practice for these special performances are held during Sunday evening activities with the Children & Youth Ministries from 5-6:30.

Children’s Bell Choir

No rehearsals necessary. If your child knows their colors, they can easily participate on the spot during worship service. Usually children 3-11 years old participate and bring great joy to the entire congregation with the beautiful music they make.

Youth and Adult Tone Chime Choir

Participants must be able to read music. They rehearse as needed and play during our worship services about 8 times per year. The Tone Chime Choir adds a special dimension to the worship experience.

Special Music

From time to time there are opportunities for solos, duets, ensembles and guest musicians to share their talents. St. Paul’s has been blessed with many professional artists: Laurie Arnold – professional vocalist; the outstanding barbershop ensemble called the Gainesville Barbergators, the Central Florida Master Choir, and the Marion Civic Chorale.
